Senior Systems Engineer
Ramat Gan | Full Time
Position & Qualifications Overview
Medasense Biometrics is developing a new medical device and is looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to own its system-level definition from concept through verification and transfer to production.
You will sit at the center of hardware, electrical, mechanical, and sensing, translating clinical and product needs into a coherent, verifiable system architecture. You will also manage the technical execution of the program, keeping development on schedule, within budget, and aligned across teams and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the system-level technical project plan: define milestones and deliverables, coordinate schedules and dependencies across disciplines and external suppliers, track progress and risks, and report status to management.
- Define system requirements, interfaces (electrical, mechanical, sensing, connectivity, power) and maintain traceability from user needs to verification.
- Lead requirements decomposition across hardware, mechanical, and sensing/algorithm teams and resolve cross-domain trade-offs (power, performance, cost, safety, manufacturability).
- Own system-level risk management (ISO 14971) and contribute to the design history file under ISO 13485.
- Drive integration, system testing, and design verification; define test strategy and acceptance criteria.
- Interface with regulatory and QA to ensure design aligns with IEC 60601-1 (and collaterals) and usability (IEC 62366).
- Support clinical, manufacturing, and field teams through technical reviews, root-cause analysis, and design changes.
Requirements
- Sc./M.Sc. in Electrical, Biomedical, Systems, or related engineering.
- 7+ years in systems engineering for complex electronic products, including several years in medical devices or another regulated, safety-critical domain.
- Demonstrated ownership of the full development lifecycle: requirements, architecture, integration, and V&V.
- Strong hardware/electrical foundation with the ability to reason across mechanical and sensing domains and define clean interfaces to software/firmware teams.
- Hands-on with requirements/traceability and risk-management practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable leading cross-functional reviews.
Advantages
- Experience with patient monitoring, sensors, or physiological signal acquisition.
- Experience with single-use medical patches, disposables, or consumable sensor components, including their design, materials, and manufacturing considerations.
- Familiarity with IEC 60601-1, ISO 14971, IEC 62366, and FDA design controls.
- Experience taking a product from concept to market and through design transfer to production.
- Hardware connectivity/interface exposure (USB, UART, analog front-ends, power systems).
